Opto Circuits slips 4% on poor Q1 show

Revenue of the company declined to Rs 50.28 crore versus Rs 71.31 crore. Share price of Opto Circuits Indiaslipped more than 4 percent in the early trade on August 20 on poor June quarter numbers. The company's Q1 consolidated net profit fell 16 percent to Rs 10.8 crore versus Rs 12.95 crore in the same quarter last fiscal. Revenue of the company declined to Rs 50.28 crore versus Rs 71.31 crore. At 0932 hours, Opto Circuits India was quoting at Rs 4.25, down Rs 0.19, or 4.28 percent on the BSE. The share touched its 52-week high Rs 13.41 and 52-week low Rs 2.95 on 21 August 2018 and 31 July 2019, respectively. Currently, it is trading 68.31 percent below its 52-week high and 44.07 percent above its 52-week low. Expiry Week: Market seen consolidation; FII sells Rs 5781.98cr equity, IT index up over 3%

The foreign investors sold equities worth Rs 5781.98 crore. However, domestic institutions bought Rs 5972.69 crore worth of equities in last week. Indian indices seen a consolidation for the week ended February 23 amid no major cues from domestic as well as international markets. Equity benchmarks have been oscillating within last two weeks’ broad range of 10600-10300, indicating consolidation after the recent sharp decline of 8%. The index rebounded from the oversold territory and is under the process of forming base near the lower band of broader consolidation range around 10300. Going forward, we expect the market to consolidate and form a good base in the range of 10300–10600. Shares of Ambuja Cements, Aurobindo Pharma and Bosch slipped 1-2.5 percent as they were excluded from the Nifty 50 index. Shares of Bajaj Finserv, Grasim Industries and Titan Company rose more than 1 percent intraday Thursday as they were included in Nifty 50 index. Meanwhile, shares of Ambuja Cements, Aurobindo Pharma and Bosch slipped 1-2.5 percent as they were excluded from the Nifty 50 index The changes were announced by India Index Services and Products, an arm of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) as part of its periodic review. The said changes will get implemented with effect from April 2, 2018. Also, Punjab National Bank (PNB) will move out of the NSE's Nifty Midcap 100 index. Recent negative developments in Indian banking sector has put pressure on the rupee. The USD-INR is expected to trade in a range of 64.75-65.05 for the day, says Mohan Shenoi of Kotak Mahindra Bank. Asia stocks slip as US rate risk lifts bond yields

Japan's Nikkei shed 1 percent even as the yen gave back some of its recent gains on the dollar. Asian shares slipped on Thursday as the risk of faster hikes in U.S interest rates lifted short-term Treasury yields to the highest in almost a decade and boosted the dollar. MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan eased 0.35 percent in early trade, while E-Mini futures for the S&P 500 lost 0.2 percent. Japan's Nikkei shed 1 percent even as the yen gave back some of its recent gains on the dollar. On Wall Street the Dow had ended Wednesday down 0.67 percent, while the S&P 500 fell 0.55 percent and the Nasdaq 0.22 percent. The retreat came after minutes of the Federal Reserve's last policy meeting showed the usual concerns that inflation might disappoint, but also an expectation of faster economic growth due to fiscal stimulus.
